This is part 1 of a 4 part series of courses designed to help younger students learn the fundamental principles of coding in a more accessible way using the Blockly programming language. This course is geared towards 3rd-5th graders. Blockly is free and open-source software developed by Google and MIT which uses visual building blocks that snap together in intuitive ways to help students learn the structure, syntax, and style of real-world programming languages. This series of courses will guide students through increasingly more difficult activities that will help them focus on core programming skills. Students will learn to program in a way that lays a foundation for more advanced programming languages.
