$300 ($30/session)This is part 3 of a 3-part series of computer science courses designed to help younger students learn the fundamental principles of coding in a more accessible way. Students will learn the basics of coding using Blockly, a client-side library for the programming language JavaScript. This free and open-source software uses visual building blocks of code that snap together in intuitive ways to help students learn the structure, syntax, and style of real-world programming languages.
This series of courses will guide students through increasingly more difficult activities that will help them develop core programming skills. Students will learn to program in a way that lays a foundation for the learning of more advanced programming languages such as the C language, the C++ language, and HTML. This course is geared towards 3rd-5th graders. The goal of this class is to help younger students develop a basic understanding of how to code, as this is becoming an increasingly important skill in a technology-centric world.
